Examines the fundamental molecular, cellular and genetic principles characterizing plants and animals. Includes cell structure and function, and the metabolic processes of respiration, and photosynthesis, as well as cell reproduction and basic concepts of heredity. The course includes laboratory experience. This course is a state guaranteed transfer course GT-SC1. Prerequisite(s): REA 090 and ENG 090 and [MAT 090 or (MAT 060 and MAT 107) or (MAT 045 and MAT 107)] and BIO 105 or high school general biology within last 7 years. Five credits.
