Course Information

Course Load

The normal course load for a full-time student is from 12 to 18 credit hours. An employed student should vary a course load for the semester according to the number of hours the student works. It is recommended that such a student consult with an advisor about his or her schedule. Students who wish to complete a 2-year degree in 2 years, excluding summers, should take at least 15 credits per term.

Course Repeatability

Courses Repeatable for Credit

Aims courses designated in the course description as repeatable can be taken multiple times with each passed completion resulting in additional credit hours being awarded.  Some courses are designated as repeatable with restrictions (also noted in the course description).  Course completions that exceed the listed restrictions will not result in additional credit hours being awarded.  All completions will be recorded on the transcript.

Courses Not Repeatable for Credit

Aims courses designated in the course description as not repeatable can be taken multiple times, but hours will only be awarded for one passed completion.  Courses not repeatable for credit are subject to the Repeated Courses Policy and Procedure (https://www.aims.edu/resource-library/601-and-601-01-repeated-courses-policy-and-procedure).  All completions will be recorded on the transcript.
