ART 122 - Drawing for Graphic NovelCredits: 3 Introduces the drawing and fine art principles used in developing illustrations for the graphic novel. Students explore the graphic novel as a vehicle for a unique, personal venue for artistic expression. Students explore the history of the graphic novel as well as examine different artistic styles used in the development of graphic novel illustrations. The application of artistic concepts in the creation of an individual graphic work and thorough examination of course material in terms of style, design considerations and visual elements are the primary focus. Students will create images for a graphic novel, focusing on unity of style and techniques for creating images appropriate to story line using black and white or grayscale illustrations. Prerequisite(s): None. Three credits.
