GEY 135 - Environmental Geology w/Lab [SC1]

Introduces geology and its relationship to man’s environment. Covers geologic hazards such as floods, landslides, avalanches, earthquakes and volcanoes. Focuses on surface and groundwater resources in terms of exploitation and man’s responsibility to protect these resources from contamination. The geologic aspects of land use practices, as well as mineral and energy resource exploitation are reviewed and related to legislation regarding environmental law. This course is a state guaranteed transfer course GT-SC1. Prerequisite(s): CCR 092 and MAT 050. Four credits.
