Introduces students to the issues of race and ethnicity. Emphasizes ethnic relations in the United States as it pertains to four major groups: Americans of African, Asian, Latino and Native descent. Explores issues of racial and ethnic identity, racism and discrimination, stereotyping, prejudice, segregation, colonialism, integration and acculturation. This is a statewide Guaranteed Transfer course in the GT-SS3 category. Course is not repeatable for credit.
