Explores current adult learning theory, and relates this theory to the practice of teaching. It also covers a variety of factors that influence teaching and learning, including social and individual psychological aspects of adult learning, patterns of participation and motivation, the role of instructional technology, handling challenging classroom behaviors, and assessment and evaluation strategies. The main point raised and discussed throughout the course is that effective teaching requires that instructors utilize a range of teaching and assessment approaches and methods in order to enhance learning. Course is not repeatable for credit.
