Course Information

Course Load

A full-time student typically carries a course load ranging from 12 to 18 credit hours. Employed students should adjust their course load based on their work hours for the semester. It is advisable for such students to seek guidance from an advisor regarding their schedules. Those aiming to finish a 2-year degree within 2 years, excluding summers, are encouraged to enroll in a minimum of 15 credits per term.

Course Repeatability

Courses Repeatable for Credit

Courses labeled as repeatable in the course description allow students to enroll in them multiple times, earning additional credit hours upon successful completion. Certain courses have repeatable designations with specified restrictions, as outlined in the course description. However, completing these courses beyond the specified restrictions will not result in additional credit hours. Nonetheless, all completions will be documented on the transcript.

Courses Not Repeatable for Credit

Courses designated in the course description as non-repeatable can still be taken multiple times; however, credit hours will only be awarded for one successful completion. Non-repeatable courses for credit are subject to the Repeated Courses Policy and Procedure (https://www.aims.edu/resource-library/601-and-601-01-repeated-courses-policy-and-procedure).  All completions will be documented on the transcript.
