RTE 101 - Introduction to Radiography

Credits: 2
Entrance determined by application process.  Introduces radiology including equipment, exposure, positioning and the knowledge necessary for the radiography student to provide safe patient care including communication skills, body mechanics, patient transfer, and radiography as a profession.  This course is taken during the spring semester prior to program start. Differential tuition rates apply.Two credits.
Prerequisite(s): Permission of department chair and the following courses must be completed with a grade of “C” or higher prior to application to take this course. HPR 178 (3 credit course only); BIO 106 or BIO 201 and BIO 202 completed within 7 years from the semester of application to RTE 101; MAT 107 or higher completed within 10 years from the semester of application to RTE 101; ENG 121 or ENG 122 or ENG 131; PSY 235 or PSY 101 if taken prior to January 1, 2018; and COM 125
