Academic Standing
All students at Aims must maintain a minimum cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 2.00 or higher in all attempted undergraduate-level courses to remain in good academic standing.
Students who do not meet this standard will be assigned an academic standing status based on their individual academic performance.
For detailed information, please refer to the Academic Standards page on the Aims Community College website or consult the Academic Standing Policy.
Attendance
Students are expected to attend all classes for which they are registered, except in cases of illness or other emergencies. Instructors will determine and communicate how absences may affect course grades.
If a student accumulates excessive absences to the extent that continued enrollment is no longer beneficial, the instructor may recommend that the student withdraw from the course. All withdrawals must be completed by the published deadline for the specific course section.
Course Repeats
Students may repeat certain courses taken at Aims to improve their grade. Specific details about eligible courses and the effects of repeating courses are outlined in the Repeated Courses Policy and Procedure.
Honors Recognition
Full-time students who earn a semester GPA of 3.5 or higher in at least 12 credit hours of college-level courses used to calculate the GPA qualify for honors recognition.
Student Code of Conduct
Aims Community College values its diverse learning community and is committed to maintaining a safe and respectful campus environment where all students have equal opportunities to learn, study, and grow.
Students are responsible for their actions and are expected to treat all members of the College community-including faculty, staff, students, and guests-with dignity, respect, fairness, and civility at all times. Academic honesty is essential; students must refrain from cheating, plagiarism, or knowingly providing false information to the College.
The Student Code of Conduct details the policies, regulations, and procedures regarding academic honesty and student behavior. Actions that interfere with the learning process, violate the rights of others, disrupt the College’s normal operations, damage property, or threaten health and safety may result in disciplinary measures.
This Code applies to behavior on College property, in all classes, and at College-sponsored events, whether on or off campus. Violations may lead to disciplinary action, including suspension or expulsion.
