College Values

The values of Aims Community College guide the behaviors and expectations of our students and employees. These principles reflect what we offer to-and expect from-one another in our learning community:

Authenticity and Truthfulness

We strive to foster an environment where students, employees, and the community feel safe and welcomed to be true to their own personality, spirit, and identities so we can engage with each other in a genuine manner.

Community

We strive to cultivate a feeling of fellowship among faculty, staff, administrators, students, and College stakeholders so we can develop opportunities to share collective interests and goals.

Equity and Professional Respect

We strive to promote an atmosphere grounded in equity and civility with due regard, consideration, and thoughtfulness for the feelings, needs, and rights of others.

Inclusiveness

We strive to advance the practice of involvement and empowerment for everyone where the inherent worth, dignity, histories, and experiences of people are welcomed, affirmed, and celebrated.

Performance Excellence and Effectiveness

We strive to deliver ever-improving value to students and stakeholders, and we focus on organizational sustainability and continuous improvement for overall College effectiveness.

History

In 1965, a citizens’ committee representing all of Weld County’s school districts recommended the formation of a junior college district. In January 1967, voters overwhelmingly approved the establishment of Aims Community College. Two months later, a governing board was elected, and Dr. Ed Beaty was appointed as the College’s first president.

Over the past 50 years, Aims has continued to grow to meet the evolving needs of the community. The college now offers educational excellence at locations in Fort Lupton, Greeley, Loveland, and Windsor. Today, Aims delivers more than 4,000 day, evening, weekend, and online courses annually across more than 200 degree and certificate programs.

Aims remains committed to preparing for the future through continuous facility expansion, remodeling, and technology upgrades that enhance learning in the classroom, across campuses, and online.

Mission, Vision, and Purpose

Mission: Provide knowledge, skills and support services to advance quality of life, economic vitality and overall success of the diverse communities we serve.

Aims believes education should be accessible to all individuals who can benefit from the courses and programs available. Offering opportunities to relieve the financial burden of college is a priority. Aims also strives to foster equitable access by working to increase enrollment of first-generation, non-traditional and under-represented groups. Aims provides educational opportunities in a manner in which students are able to follow an individualized path that will lead to a successful future.

Vision: Looking ahead to empower the future - today!

It is the goal of Aims Community College to provide a wide range of learning-centered programs and strategies in a supportive environment so every student can be successful. Aims promotes learning through best practices such as teaching with high expectations, increasing engagement and encouraging active learning. Aims is continuously enhancing operations as a commitment to providing the most effective education for each student.

Purpose: Opening doors to enrich lives for a better tomorrow!

Aims continually seeks opportunities to ensure inclusivity, learning and growth. For equitable education access to occur, targeted outreach and support is necessary for enrolling and retaining diverse groups. This aligns with the inclusive community Aims seeks to create.

Aims also invests in regional programs and partnerships around Northern Colorado. This sets up a pathway to career success for students while simultaneously enriching Northern Colorado development.

Tuition

Aims Community College offers the lowest tuition in Northern Colorado, making it the most affordable option for completing the first two years of your college education.
