Advising at Aims: Your Partnership for Success

At Aims Community College, advising is about more than just picking classes-it’s about building a relationship that empowers you to reach your goals. Our Student Success Coaches are here to help you navigate college culture, identify your career path, and overcome obstacles to your success.

How it Works:

  • Specialized Support: You’ll be matched with a Success Coach who specializes in your program’s pathway.
  • Required Starting Point: All new degree-seeking students meet with their Coach before registering for their first semester.
  • Ongoing Guidance: We encourage you to meet every semester to stay on track for graduation and make the most of your time at Aims.

The AIMS Journey: Your appointments follow a structured 4-phase path designed to build your skills progressively:

  1. Arrival
  2. Intention
  3. Momentum
  4. Success

Beyond the Classroom: Your Coach is your primary advocate.  They will help  you create a long-term academic plan, monitor your progress, and connect you with vital resources-including financial aid, wellness services, and faculty mentors.  Our goal is to ensure you have the tools to solve problems and excel in your chosen academic program and future career.
