Radiologic Technology (A.A.S. Degree - Two Years)
Program Overview
Radiologic Technologists play an essential role in modern healthcare, using imaging technologies to assist in diagnosing and treating medical conditions. The Associate of Applied Science (A.A.S.) in Radiologic Technology at Aims prepares students for immediate employment as radiographers and serves as a foundation for advanced imaging modalities such as CT, MRI, and mammography.
Program Length
Minimum of five semesters, plus 16 General Education credits to complete the degree.
Entrance Requirements
Admission to the Radiologic Technology program is competitive and requires:
Strong skills in math, science, and written communication are recommended for success.
Registration Requirement
All courses with an RTE prefix require departmental approval each semester. Students must receive an override from the program coordinator or department chair before registering.
Program Participation Requirements
Students are responsible for the following items required for clinical participation:

Criminal background check (no disqualifying offenses)

Current CPR certification (Healthcare Provider level)

Onboarding and agency-specific fees (subject to change)

Urinalysis drug screening
Potential Opportunities
Graduates are eligible to sit for the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) national certification exam. Upon passing, students earn the designation Registered Technologist, R.T.(R).

Mammography Technologist (Two Semesters)
Program Overview
This certificate program provides specialized training for ARRT-registered technologists seeking certification in Mammography. Students develop competency in breast imaging procedures and patient care within mammography-specific settings.
Program Length: 1-2 semesters

Admission Prerequisites
Applicants must hold current ARRT certification in Radiography (RT(R)).
