Certificates Offered
Acute Care (One Semester)
This certificate prepares students to deliver essential patient care in acute care settings such as hospitals and specialty clinics. Students develop skills in assisting with daily living activities, monitoring vital signs, maintaining patient safety, and effective team communication. Graduates are prepared to work under the supervision of nursing staff in fast-paced clinical environments.

Expands and applies knowledge and skills gained in NUA 1070 to client care.

NUA 1074 - Acute Care Nurse Aide Skills (1 credit)
Explores the role of the acute care nurse aide in communication, safety, and advanced care skills.
Healthcare Readiness and Professionalism (One Semester)
This course grouping equips students with clinical skills, workplace readiness, and a foundational understanding of healthcare career pathways.

Medical Preparation (Two Semesters)
Total Credits: 12 | Program Length: 230 Clock Hours
The Medical Preparation Program is a scholarship-supported partnership between Aims Community College and local school districts, allowing high school juniors and seniors to earn college credit while fulfilling high school requirements. This two-semester program introduces healthcare career pathways and prepares students for entry-level employment or further study.

This program prepares students for the State of Colorado Nurse Aide Certification Examination and provides entry into healthcare environments such as long-term care, home health, and hospitals. It includes classroom instruction, lab simulations, and clinical experience.
