Flight Students

Flight students enrolled in any of the aviation flight training degree or certificate programs must receive flight training, both dual and solo, required for all certificates and ratings, at the Aims Flight Training Center. Aircraft rental fees and flight instruction fees apply - see Flight Fees. Charges are subject to change without notice. Students engaged in flight training must hold a minimum of a Second-Class FAA medical certificate. All students must meet Transportation Security Administration requirements. To obtain FAA certification, students must be able to read, speak, write, and understand English.

Air Traffic Control (ATC)

ATC applicants must be citizens of the United States of America and also be less than 31 years old at the time of hiring by the FAA; therefore, ATC students should be no more than 28 years old when beginning the program. It is required that all ATC students hold a Second-Class FAA medical certificate. A Second-Class FAA medical certificate, administered by an Aviation Medical Examiner (AME), is required to meet the necessary health standards for the ATC position/industry. To obtain FAA certification, students must be able to read, speak, write, and understand English.

Potential Opportunities

This aviation program equips graduates with the technical knowledge, practical skills, and Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) certifications required to pursue entry-level careers in professional aviation, including positions as pilots or air traffic controllers. Graduates are prepared to operate safely and efficiently in both commercial and general aviation environments, demonstrating proficiency in aviation regulations, navigation, communication, and operational decision-making.
