Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS)

Students must also be in a physical and mental condition to safely fly a drone. It is highly encouraged that all UAS students obtain the FAA Part 107 certificate by passing the FAA-administered knowledge (written) exam. To obtain FAA certification, students must be able to read, speak, write, and understand English.

Potential Opportunities

This aviation program prepares graduates with the technical skills and Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) certifications required for entry-level employment in the growing unmanned aircraft systems (UAS) industry. Students gain hands-on experience operating and maintaining drones, learning flight planning, safety procedures, data collection, and regulatory compliance. Graduates are equipped for careers in commercial drone operations, aerial surveying, inspection, and other emerging UAS applications.
