Program Overview
The Natural and Physical Sciences Department provides a strong foundation in the physical and life sciences, including biology, chemistry, geology, microbiology, physics, and astronomy. These disciplines promote analytical thinking, scientific literacy, and investigative skills that are essential in a broad range of academic and professional pathways.
Natural and Physical Sciences courses fulfill general education requirements and may be used as electives toward A.A., A.A.S., A.S., A.G.S., and certificate programs.
Students who are exploring degree or career options often find Natural and Physical Sciences courses helpful for identifying their academic interests and goals. These offerings are valuable for students preparing to transfer to four-year institutions, enter health-related fields, or pursue STEM careers.
