Program Overview
The Social Sciences Department at Aims Community College offers students a broad array of courses in Anthropology, Economics, Geography, History, and Political Science. These disciplines help students explore human behavior, cultural patterns, societal development, and political and economic systems.
Students interested in careers in teaching, law, public service, government, politics, or economics will find that Social Sciences courses build essential foundations for employment or university transfer.
For students still exploring academic or career paths, Social Sciences courses can also provide valuable insights and direction. Many courses fulfill general education requirements and serve as electives within A.A., A.A.S., A.G.S., A.S., and certificate programs.
