The Associate of Applied Science (AAS) in Applied Technology is designed to provide students with a high-quality, individualized education in a chosen technology field. The program combines general education coursework with specialized training in a technical area.

Students pursuing the AAS in Applied Technology may complete coursework at Aims Community College or at any fully accredited college or Area Vocational School (AVS).

Students are strongly encouraged to work closely with their advisor to select coursework that aligns with their intended training and career goals.

Minimum Requirements for the AAS in Applied Technology:

  • A minimum of 60 semester credits, including:
    • 45 credits in Career and Technical Education (CTE) courses
    • 15 credits in general education courses
  • At least 15 semester credits must be completed at Aims Community College (typically general education courses; see item 5 below)
  • All transfer courses from another college or AVS must be completed with a grade of C or higher
  • A minimum cumulative GPA of 2.0 is required for all courses completed at Aims Community College
  • 15 semester credits of general education coursework consisting of:
