Surveys the tenets of Islam and the political, social and cultural history
of the civilizations which embraced it from the 6th century to the modern
day. Focuses on the diversity and dynamism of Islamic civilizations through
time by looking at legal systems, scientific and artistic accomplishments,
philosophical heterogeneity and political developments. This course is a
state guaranteed transfer course. GT-HI1 Three credits.
